Latest jobs http://www.newenglanddocs.com/ 22-05-2013 <strong>Location:</strong> Rhode Island<br /><strong>Description:</strong><br /> <p>Medical Director – Oncology/Hematology<br /> South County Hospital<br /> Wakefield, RI</p> <p>Reporting to the Vice President of Medical Affairs, the Medical Director will be a practicing Oncology/Hematology physician and an integral member of the Hospital’s multidisciplinary Physician Group Practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced physician leader, board certified or eligible in Oncology/Hematology, with a track record of establishing strategies and programs focused on providing high-quality cancer care. </p> <p>Responsibilities Include:<br /> • Accountable for the overall functioning and performance of the Cancer service and practice including Quality, Service and Financial outcomes<br /> • Collaborates with Administration and other cancer providers on the development of the strategic plan for the service including the selection of a strategic partner, academic affiliations, and facility expansion<br /> • Develops operating plans for the practice and hospital based unit, and leads the implementation of the plans. </p> <p>The Medical Director’s leadership will be supported and respected by Administration, other providers, the Practice Manager, and staff. </p> <p>Qualifications Include: <br /> • Medical degree with Board Certification in Medical Oncology, licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Rhode Island<br /> • Significant experience in clinical practice; strong clinical competency<br /> • Certified Physician Executive (<span class="caps">CPE</span>) certification desirable<br /> • Demonstrated experience in medical staff leadership</p> <p>Cancer Program Overview:<br /> The Hospital’s Cancer Program includes a hospital based physician practice of two Oncology/Hematology physicians, with on-site laboratory services; hospital based chemotherapy and other infusion therapy services, and on-site radiation therapy through a joint venture with 21st Century Oncology. Plans for the South County Hospital Cancer Program include the co-location of the Oncology/ Hematology practice, outpatient infusion therapy services and other cancer related services to a newly renovated space within the Hospital to improve patient access and care coordination flow for an improved patient experience.
